Stream: Learning through unions

unionlearn North West annual report 2010

This report will hopefully give you an idea of how unionlearn is developing in the region and how we are making an impact in the workplace. Unionlearn is an integral part of what the TUC offers in the region with a diverse range of initiatives and groundbreaking projects. From developing a cultural diversity awareness toolkit to the use of personal digital assistants (PDAs) in engaging and assessing members for Skills for Life*, unionlearn continues to be dynamic in the way we support union members across the North West.

This is our first regional annual report and sets out the activity unionlearn has undertaken during 2009/2010. We have made great strides this year with some of the key achievements including:

  • Round 3 of Learning and Skills for All Fund*
  • Development of the Collective Learning Fund model in the region
  • Apprenticeships* are Union Business regional activity
  • Support of informal adult learning activity through Learning at Work Day and Festival of Skills
