Trade Unions in the Community have the Festive Season Wrapped Up!

For the second year running unionlearn with the Yorkshire and the Humber TUC in partnership with affiliate unions are working together to arrange a series of collections for people that need help during the festive season. The items collected will be put into hampers and given to vulnerable sections of the community that need assistance. Last year we were able to help a range of organisations who were able to distribute the hampers we made up to families and individuals in need.

This year we would like to do it all again...but this time we would like it to be bigger and better, helping even more people and showing that Trade Unions are always looking for opportunities to help their members' communities.

So how can you help?

If you work in or deal with a workplace who could donate items in bulk we would be grateful if you could approach them to request a donation, last year we had bulk donations including drinks, sweets and chocolates, cereals, muffins, toiletries and toys. Where workplaces are willing to donate items unionlearn can where required arrange collection.

We also need individuals to act as Collection Co-ordinators - Would you be willing to oversee a collection of donations in your workplace. We are looking for :

• Toy and games
• New clothing
• Dry goods
• Tins and cartons of food
• Sweets and confectionary

You would be responsible for liaising with management in your workplace in order to find a suitable collection point, advertising the collection and liaising with unionlearn to arrange the collection of the donated items.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us make up hampers in the week commencing December 12^th
