Stream: Learning through unions

Ofsted highlight good practice at McVitie's in the North West

McVitie's in Manchester employs over 600 people and has around 70% of the workforce engaged in learning. McVitie's have supported hundreds of learners through their union learning projects and set up a Collective Learning Funds* (CLFs) to make learning more affordable.

CLFs are essentially pots of resource, money or time for instance, with which employers, workers, learning providers and unions jointly invest in efforts to deliver courses and training for learners.

Ofsted's recent good practice case study on McVitie's can be found by clicking here.
