Trade unions are working to improve learning opportunities in workplaces across the South West and a team of unionlearn Project Workers is based around the region to support this activity.

Skills for the Future Fund
Who is it for?
The 'Skills for the Future' fund is available to trade unions who can apply for funding support to deliver services within the South West of England, excluding Cornwall where other funding support is available.
The aim of the fund:
The fund has been set up to support unions to provide learning and skill development opportunities for workers and worker's representatives. The fund will support a partnership response to the economic downturn that seeks to retain skills and employment in the region by enhancing workers' skills and employability. It will also encourage the development of a 'whole organisation' approach to identifying, managing and delivering learning and skills solutions that allows for the innovation of unions and their partners.
When do you need to apply by?
The closing date for applications for contracts is Friday 12th February 2010 at 5.00pm.
