Union professional development programme 2007 courses for union officers and other professionals and staff

During the last few years much has changed both at EU and UK level. TUC Education offers this course to give union professionals an overview of developments and current issues across the European Union. The course will initially begin in March 2007.

Who the course is for?

This course is for all union professionals with an interest in developing an understanding of the European Social Model and related European topics.

What will the course help me to do?

This course will help union professionals:

  • understand the European Social Model and the Lisbon Treaty
  • understand developments at EU level and the importance of these developments for unions
  • understand EU institutions and organisations
  • understand attitudes towards Europe
  • understand national and European trade union policies and strategies
  • promote understanding of European issues throughout your organisation
  • develop tools and techniques for raising awareness of EU issues
  • research sources of information on the EU
  • develop networks within Europe

Accreditation

This course is accredited through the Open College Network, participants can, if they wish, gain recognition for their achievements in learning. Credits can be accumulated and used towards qualifications and other awards.

How long is the course?

The online course is designed to be delivered over 6 weeks and will take approximately 18 hours to complete.

How much is this course?

This course is free to union officers and staff.
