Midlands TUC Half-Day Briefing Preparing for the new Fit Note From 6th April there will be a number of important changes to the sick note, or medical statement, that employees get from their GP to certify sickness absence. There are issues for doctors, workers, employers and trade unions. It is important that the implications are understood and that union reps and officers have prepared for the casework that may well follow. This briefing will introduce new TUC guidance for union reps and provide an overview of the new requirements and how they will impact on working people.
