What a difference a day makes! Learning at Work Day 2008 National Learning at Work Day is an annual awareness campaign, promoting and supporting workplace learning events across England. This year LAW Day takes place on 22nd May and is a fantastic opportunity to promote any kind of workplace learning initiative - whether it's well-established or just starting out, and get as many people as possible involved. Last year an estimated 6,300 organisations took part, including large corporations, SMEs*, public sector organisations and government departments. By getting involved in the biggest annual celebration of workplace learning you could reach more potential learners, uncover new skills, build new partnerships and help your union, colleagues and employer to achieve something really worthwhile. If you would like to get involved unionlearn* in the northern region is able to offer some funding to a limited number of projects in the North East and Cumbria to help run Learning at Work Day initiatives. The initiatives can cover a broad spectrum of learning - from providing sessions on Digital Photography, Salsa dancing or Sign Language to a learning Open Day for staff to visit throughout the day -or whatever works best for your members, colleagues and workplace. For more information and a funding application form please contact Anne Aitkenhead on 0191 232 3175 or email aaitkenhead@tuc.org.uk For more general information on LAW Day visit www.campaign-for-learning.org.uk Briefing document (300 words) issued 14 Apr 2008 |
