The latest edition of the "TUC Education Courses for all Union Reps" Course Booklet, Scotland Edition is now available to download by clicking here.

This booklet gives details of the TUC Education Course Programme in Scotland for the Academic Year, August 2013 to June 2014 and also contains a Course Application Form.

The charity, National Numeracy weblink, wants to work with union learning reps and maths champions in piloting and rolling out a new UK-wide project to help improve everyday maths skills.

Nominations for the Technician of the Year Award are now open

The Royal Society Of Chemistry are holding the ‘Technician Of The Year Award’. The categories awarded are:

  • Technical support in education and further education (with special reference to chemistry)
  • Technical support in higher education and research
  • Technical support in industry 

The winner of each category will receive £2000 and a certificate which will be awarded at the RSC’s General Assembly. You do not need to be a member of the RSC or have Rsci-Tech to qualify.

Nominations will close on 01 July 2013

Hartlepool youth worker wins unionlearn category at Adult Learners Week Awards

Unite the union member, Robert Bell, fought off stiff competition to win the  unionlearn category at the Regional Adult Learners Week Awards celebration event at Gateshead College Academy for Sport yesterday (22 May).

 

Driving apprenticeships N-Gaged with the Quality Award

The Driving Goods Vehicle apprenticeship training programme delivered by N-Gaged Training and Recruitment Ltd from Bristol has successfully completed its first annual review as part of the unionlearn Quality Award.  The annual review involves reviewing any changes since assessment and gathering feedback from unions to ensure that the programme continues to meet the Quality Award standard.
