Top Tips ­­- Ensuring quality information, advice and guidance

  • Identify best methods to offer IAG* to suit member's e.g. face-to-face, written, electronic, taster sessions.
  • Ensure IAG is stated as part of the union service in all publicity e.g. confidential, data protected, friendly approach, professional staff, response within 24 hours, complaints procedure.
  • Keep records of IAG given and ensure security and confidentiality.
  • Include questions about the IAG received on interview forms, course reviews and other organisational evaluations.
  • Conduct regular telephone sampling, reviews and feedback opportunities to check the quality of IAG.
  • Prepare regular statistics from sampling and questionnaires and feed these back to members, the union and management.
  • Obtain quotes from people who experience your IAG and make changes to improve it i.e. 'This is what you said and this is what we did'.
