Seeking interest in consultancy work within unionlearn's Supporting Migrant Workers into Learning in Leicester Project

Consultants to cover Leicester City and Leicestershire on a part-time basis

The Supporting Migrant Workers into Learning project is designed to help skilled migrants to fulfil their economic potential and increase their value to the regional economy.

The project will support workers with workplace or community based English lessons and ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) workshops.

The project offers an additional service for migrant workers as it matches their homeland qualifications to the UK equivalent.

As such, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals already working within migrant communities (unions or employers) who are interested in working on a consultancy basis in order to identify participants who would benefit from this project. We welcome interest from those who share our vision, professionalism and commitment to the trade union ethos.

To be considered for these opportunities you should already have relevant experience working and organising migrant communities, Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or learning projects, have good language skills and be self motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred candidates must be able to provide the following:

  • A letter of interest detailing relevant experience and how you intend to identify and organise the migrant workers with good language skills and qualifications in their home country who could achieve a higher level of English (Level 2) and Level 3 in ILM accredited qualification.
  • An up to date CV

We will

  • Acknowledge receipt of your letter of interest and CV via email
  • Contact you if you have been successful in being placed on consultants list
  • Arrange to meet with you if we wish to discuss possible delivery, payments etc.

Closing date for expressions of interest by email to jpranculyte@tuc.org.uk is

5 February 2012.
