The HE system should support working people

In response to Vince Cable's HE* speech today:

Tom Wilson, director of unionlearn, said: 'Whatever new HE funding system emerges, it must provide better help for working people; 80 per cent of those at work in 2020 are at work today. They need an HE system which values both vocational and academic skills, supports part time students and strengthens links between FE* and HE.'
