Gedling MP Vernon Coaker meets union learners at Findel EducationVernon Coaker MP today (Friday 18th April) saw how his constituents are benefiting from union-led learning during a visit to Findel Education in his Gedling constituency. The MP visited the on-site learning centre which is the result of a successful partnership between unionlearn* (the TUC's learning and skills organisation ), USDAW (the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers) and Findel Education. He met union learning reps from USDAW and was able to meet several of his constituents who were receiving certificates for nationally recognised qualifications. Unionlearn regional manager Mary Alys and Findel Education's Senior Operations Manager Sue Careless accompanied the MP on the visit and highlighted the achievements of union-led learning in the region and workplace. Vernon Coaker MP said: 'I am delighted to see the great work that union learning reps are doing at Findel Education. Learning really is for life and we can all improve our skills. This partnership between Findel Education, USDAW (the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers) and unionlearn is reaping real benefits for the workforce and for the area.'
