Awards are made to providers who demonstrate that unions and union learners are considered in the design, development and delivery of courses and programmes. Those providers achieving the unionlearn Quality Award will be included on the unionlearn website which receives over three million hits per month. Jo Brand said: ' I know through my time working as a psychiatric nurse that learning benefits not only people's confidence and their careers, but also their health. So I'm pleased today to be supporting the TUC's unionlearn, which has made such a difference to workplace learning.' Sally Dale, Partnerships Project Manager Careers Advice Service, Learning and Skills Council said: 'The Careers Advice Service is proud to accept the unionlearn Quality Award. The service prides itself on its quality service to users and partners and this award can only endorse the service further and encourage more unions and union learners to access resources readily available to them. The Partnership arrangement between the Careers Advice Service and unionlearn provides telephone and internet services to support individuals and unions reps to achieve their aspirations in learning and at work. It is particularly important in the current economic climate that this service is recognised; individuals may experience many barriers preventing them from progressing in learning and at work. It is time to move on and take up new challenges. One call to our service on 08000 92 91 90 can help to achieve this.' Dr Alan Roe, unionlearn regional manager said: 'Unionlearn and trade unions are ensuring that the education members receive is of the highest standard and the unionlearn Quality Award guarantees this. Our work with the Careers Advice Service is benefiting many union learners and I am delighted to see them receive this award from Jo Brand.'
