The unionlearn Quality Award is awarded to providers in the learning world who are committed to working with trade unions. Awards are made to providers who demonstrate that unions and union learners are considered in the design, development and delivery of courses and programmes. Those providers achieving the unionlearn Quality Award will be included on the unionlearn website which receives over three million hits per month.

Jo Brand said: ' I know through my time working as a psychiatric nurse that learning benefits not only people's confidence and their careers, but also their health. So I'm pleased today to be supporting the TUC's unionlearn, which has made such a difference to workplace learning.'

Nick Crofts-Smith, Curriculum Manager, Hospitality and Catering at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology said: 'Rotherham College's close working relationship with the unions, staff and management at Pennine Foods has developed over a number of years and has been built on trust and openness. This special partnership has helped develop a well-qualified workforce and has opened up many opportunities for development and progression for members of staff at all levels. We will continue to develop and grow, and it is a great honour for the college to be recognised by unionlearn for our work in this area.'

Dr Alan Roe, unionlearn regional manager said: 'Unionlearn and trade unions are ensuring that the education members receive is of the highest standard and the unionlearn Quality Award guarantees this. Our work with Rotherham College of Arts and Technology is benefiting people in Rotherham and at Pennine Foods and I am delighted to see them receive this award from Jo Brand.'
