    Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) Co-financed by the Skills Funding Agency, New College Durhams' Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR) contract provides support for people living in the North East of England who have been made redundant, including those under notice of redundancy.

    To support apprentices who have been made redundant or think they might be in the future, the ESFA has launched the Redundancy Support Service for Apprentices (ReSSA). Apprentices can call 0800 015 0400 to get free advice, find new opportunities, and access local and national support services offering financial, health and wellbeing, legal and careers advice.

    North East Learning Providers (NELP) is a confederation of organisations delivering work- based learning to young people and adults in Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham, Newton Aycliffe and Bishop Auckland.

    The Edge is a partnership of Further Education Colleges and training providers that work together. Support is available for individuals recently made redundant (within the last 3 months) for example to gain new skills, retrain in key employment markets and gain higher level qualifications.
