South West TUC

Trade unions are working to improve learning opportunities in workplaces across the South West and a team of unionlearn Project Workers is based around the region to support this activity.

The South West Education team provide a programme of accredited courses for trade union officers and representatives. To find a course visit www.unionlearn.org.uk/courses or contact Marie Hughes at mhughes@tuc.org.uk.

A regional fund called Learning Works for All is available, managed by the TUC, and this offers an opportunity for unions in partnership to bid to run projects around learning in the South West. Online workplace learning with learndirect is being promoted in the region via the TUC's e-path project in partnership with New College, Swindon.

Secretary of State presents prestigious TUC unionlearn Quality Award to Strode College
Strode College in Street received a prestigious unionlearn Quality Award from the Right Honourable Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, John Denham MP, today (Wednesday 18 June). Ian Bennett, Principal, Tony Martin, Head of Business Development and Rachael House, Deputy Head of Teaching Team (Skills for Life) received the award on behalf of the College for Skills for Life.
