University for Industry ( Ufi)

Ufi* is the organisation responsible for the operation of learndirect* across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and UK online centres in England.

learndirect and UK online centres form a government-backed network of several thousand centres supporting e-learning* and e-services. Ufi also runs the free, impartial learndirect advice service.

The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE)

(The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education - England and Wales) is a non-governmental organisation working for more and different adult learners. NIACE's aim is to promote the study and general advancement of adult continuing education.

Scottish Trade Union Congress (STUC)

The STUC Skills & Lifelong Learning Team supports trade unions in Scotland to encourage and help workers take up opportunities to develop their learning and skills. The Skills & Lifelong Learning Team is the platform which shapes and develops a range of accessible learning services and activities, within the existing framework of the education sector, into the Scottish Union Academy. NLSC

The Marchmont Observatory (University of Exeter)

The Marchmont Observatory aims to improve evidence based policy and practice in the field of lifelong learning through analysis, good practice capture and dissemination, networking, learning programmes and research.

Established by Exeter University in 1998 following a successful £3m bid to the ADAPT Programme of the EU, the Marchmont Observatory is now funded from a range of sources including the South West Regional Development Agency, the Government Office for the South West and a range of contracts with organisations such as the TUC, DfES, the National Council – ELWa and the BBC.
