BBC launch video sharing site for parents helping kids with homework

Seven out of ten parents in a recent government survey said they would help more with their children's homework if they were more confident in their own Maths and English.

The BBC want to tackle this issue by launching BackPage. The site is for parents to share video tips about how they help their children with English and Maths homework . The motto being 'by parents, for parents'.

Ziad Dajani, the site's producer said: "Parents are always swapping advice at the school gates about the best way to help their kids with homework. Now they can try it online with bitesize video tips in a quick and easy way."

"The top tip we've had in so far is getting the kids to watch the TV with the sound off and the subtitles on as a great way to get the kids reading."

The BBC are looking for as many people as possible to take part and make videos. You can make a short film clip using any digital device that captures video. Including a video camera, a still digital camera, a webcam or even your mobile phone.

Every tip will appear on the site and the producers are hoping to discover new presenters for future projects from the videos sent in.
