10:45 Union Learning Reps Self-Organised Network

11:45 Registration

12:00 Lunch

13:00 Forum meeting

I would like to invite you to the next meeting of the Education, Learning and Skills Forum, which takes place on Wednesday 25th January at Rheged Centre, Redhills, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 0DQ.

The meeting will start at 1.00pm and finish no later than 4.00pm, preceded by a buffet lunch at 12.00. As requested, there will be a network meeting of Union Learning Reps from 10:45 to 11:45 which will give ULRs the opportunity to discuss pertinent issues in an informal manner.

The Forum will include a policy update on green skills for all workers as a vital component of tackling climate change, environmental deprivation and creating new jobs in the green economy of tomorrow.

Workshops will include:

An introduction to Greening the Workplace - looking at the practical approaches a union learning representative can take to greening the workplace.

Coping with stress - hectic lives and juggling work and home commitments is often a barrier for adults to participate in learning and career progression. This practical workshop will provide tips and advice on developing personal strategies to cope with tough times. Learn how to successfully improve your wellbeing and create your own action plan to prevent stress and cope more effectively at work and at home, as well as supporting learners.

As spaces for this event are limited, please could you indicate whether you would like to attend the Forum by Friday 13th January 2012, using the enclosed faxback form.

By coming together in a regular Education Learning and Skills Forum, ULRs and other stakeholders are able to share experiences with each other, as well as find out about emerging learning and skills policy and new initiatives. I do hope you are able to attend. A map, confirmation letter and agenda will be circulated prior to the meeting.
