On 20th June 2013, PCS ULRs delivered an event that engaged with the whole workforce with the idea of learning to celebrate Learning at Work Day. The event was held at the HMRC in Central London with funding secured from the FDA. There were 5 separate sessions delivered on the day with each session well attended.
There were 30 plus members who attended the first session which was a Knitting Workshop run by ULR Minoo Sharma and Sandra Hutchinson. Sonia Scully who is the PCS Learning Centre Manager gave a speech about the courses that the centre could offer to members and staff which would be delivered at the Clapham Junction Learning Centre, with 25 plus members attending the session. Other sessions included Stress management & Wellbeing, Cake Decorating and Reflexology.
The primary objective was to promote learning to all staff and to convey the different learning styles & activities available. The employer contributed to this objective by providing a Learning Centre with equipment such as PCs, Overhead Projector (OHP), etc. They also provided the venue for the event and allowed staff time off to attend.
The PCS ULR's at Euston Tower said, "There are many way to learn...Try One!"
