2017 will be a year of big changes for TUC Education as it launches a new learning offer to reps across the country that will make accessing training easier and more responsive to learners needs.
Trade union reps, officers and members in the West Midlands will have a chance to hear first-hand what the changes are, how new courses will work and how this will support learning for trade union reps at an event in Birmingham on Monday February 20th.
The new offer seeks to combine the best elements of classroom, blended and e-learning in a way that helps people access learning at a way that fits around increasingly busy lives, and makes use of the latest technology.
It is also hoped that this new offer will increasingly reach out to new reps and to younger workers.
TUC Education Officer Adrian Toomey will be highlighting the changes, demonstrating the new online line learning materials and updated TUC Education website, and be available to answer questions from those attending.
This event will be the best way for unions to find out about the changes to the new TUC Education offer and see for themselves the new resources and website.
The site is a one-stop shop for union reps and is being continuously developed with the main aim that that reps can revisit the site and stay up to date with new information and resources."
Midlands TUC Regional Secretary Lee Barron will be opening the event, and said:
TUC Education has been re-shaping itself to meet the challenges of reduced funding. By embracing models and methods that allow us to continue to offer a wide range and flexible set of tools we will be able to meet the needs of all our representatives.
The event in Birmingham will be an ideal opportunity for reps to hear how the new offer will benefit them and their members, and ask any questions they may have."
The Birmingham event will be held at Maple House on Corporation Street. For more details and to book a space contact Michelle Kesterton at [email protected]
