Fans of Brighton and Hove Albion will be in for a treat next week as The Hollingdean Depot Learning Centre welcomes former club Chairman Dick Knight.
Dick is a businessman and lifelong fan of the Seagulls – which he took control of in 1997 in a bid to save the club after their Goldstone Ground had been sold to property developers.
Dick wrote a book about his experiences “Mad Man: From the Gutter to the Stars” - a first-hand account of guiding the club from near-relegation and homelessness to calling an internationally-renowned stadium home.
The event has been organised by Wes Emond, GMB Learning Coordinator at Brighton & Hove Council.
Mr Knight is known as the most popular man in Brighton and Hove after rescuing the club and we are very pleased to welcome him to the Hollingdean Learning Centre. I’m sure people will be very interested in what he has to say, not only about his time at Brighton and Hove Albion, but also about the reason he decided to write a book about his experiences.”
The Brighton and Hove City Council Learning Centre at Hollingdean Depot is always busy and offers lots of learning opportunities to staff and their families. It’s always nice to have people visit the centre and find out about the great work our team of learning reps do to support learning – and I’m looking forward to not only hear Dick, but also show him the Centre.”
Dick Knight will be at Hollingdean Depot Learning Centre on Monday 19th June at 2.30 pm.
