TUC South West are holding a mental health training day for trade union members, reps, officers, and organisers.
The event, sponsored by unionlearn, is being held in Exeter on Tuesday 22nd January and will be an opportunity to learn more about:
- how to support members
- negotiating and enabling better mental health at work practices and policies
- the role of trade unions in developing mentally healthy workplaces
All attendees will receive a 'goody bag' of literature that can be used in workplaces, supporting trade union roles and help to improve wellbeing and mental health support in work environments and unions, including the new edition of the Mental Health at Work Handbook from the TUC.
Sessions on the day include:
- How a cancer diagnosis can affect mental wellbeing at work
- Dealing with suicide
- Bullying and harassment
- Stress and the workplace
- Developing best practice and workplace policies on mental health
- Men and mental health
The event takes place in Exeter Corn Exchange and runs from 10:30 – 15:30 and looks like being very popular and people are encouraged to book early to guarantee a place.
