The Northern Region is innovative, dynamic and has a first-rate unionlearn team who are here to support trade unions, employers, members, workers and their communities throughout the North East and Cumbria to embed a learning culture and make a positive difference to quality of life – both in and out of the workplace.
Almost 100,000 people in the region have engaged with lifelong learning through union-led initiatives over the last decade, across the whole gamut of the learning spectrum, from skills for life and Apprenticeships to higher level skills and more recently, the burgeoning health and wellbeing agenda.
As well as the core regional TUC Education courses, we offer a demand-led, up-to-the-minute Bitesize Briefings programme aimed at proactively keeping workplace Reps abreast of relevant new or changing information like the Equality Act, and at the forefront of new initiatives such as Mental Health First Aid Training/Green Deal or using New Media to best effect.
Unionlearn with the Northern TUC has cemented its place as a valued partner in the regional learning landscape and beyond, working with most of the region’s Local Authorities, SSCs, providers and other key agencies and organisations to have a very real impact on shaping regional development for the benefit of everyone in the North East and Cumbria.
We have an excellent range of stories from learners, providers, ULRs, unions and others from across the region.
