In the summer of 2012, John Hayes, then Minister for Skills, announced that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) would be funding the National Institute for Adult and Continuing Education (NIACE) to develop and pilot a mid-life career review process. The project commenced in June 2013 and finished in March 2014.
The project involved 18 partners and the target was to work with 2,500 individuals to test and evaluate different mid-life career review models, and to develop resources to support the process. The target has been met and exceeded, and the project laid the foundations for future work.
