Tafara is employed as a tutor within two HMP (Her Majesty's Prison) establishments in the Doncaster area. He contacted Hatfield Learning Centre back in January last year to enquire about level 3 ICT courses.

Tafara was looking to achieve a level 3 ICT qualification to further enhance his ICT skills and knowledge. This would also him develop his career by enabling him to teach level 3, ICT courses at prisons across the Doncaster area and beyond.

POA Learning staff at Hatfield discussed several options with Tafara, after which he settled upon the Level 3, ECDL Advanced (European Computer Driving License) qualification - which he started in April last year.   Throughout the past twelve months, Tafara has attended the Learning Centre regularly during lunch breaks, and on any shut down and training days, in order to work through his ECDL advanced course.   

Although there were a few challenges along the way, Tafara has now successfully completed his final ECDL Advanced unit exam and in doing so, has achieved the level 3 ICT qualification he required.  

Tafara found the help and support at the Hatfield POA Learning Centre really beneficial - and upon completion of the qualification spoke about his experiences.

The staff at the learning Centre were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the support I received during my course kept me motivated and helped me overcome various challenging sections of the qualification.

The flexibility of Hatfield Learning Centre enabled me to study and sit my exams during my lunch breaks at a location convenient to me. I would have found it extremely difficult accessing and completing a level 3 ICT qualification anywhere else due to my current work and personal commitments."
