As the learning and skills organisation of the TUC, unionlearn organises or is involved in a range of campaigns to improve learning opportunities for members of trade union.
From campaigning on behalf of apprentices to supporting workers aged 50+, unionlearn seeks to ensure that workers have learning opportunities at all stages of their careers.
Higher skills and training mean improved productivity and job performance, better morale and a workforce that can adapt to new work processes.
The campaigns include:
- Improving apprenticeships in the UK, providing guidance to apprentices and to union reps who work with them.
- Working to improve employer engagement in the provision of learning opportunities
- Providing materials to help reps support learners to improve their basic English, maths and Digital skills
- Improving equality and diversity in the provision of learning opportunities to improve skills for all
- Working with unions to improve the health and well-being of their members
- Supporting the NHS Learning for Life campaign to improve access to learning for NHS employees
