Some part-time courses are set up by employers, sometimes working with HE providers specifically set up to meet the needs of the workplace. These are likely to be part-time to fit in with working hours and funded by the employer.
Other courses may be beneficial to the employer but not provided by them. Types of support may include:
- Financial help
- Time off for studying, attending college, completing assignments
- Mentoring and access to experienced staff
- Help to develop work-based projects
- Access to computers, software and other resources
