Community recently signed a provider learning agreement with training and apprenticeships provider Axia Solutions Ltd.
The agreement will provide Community members with quality apprenticeship schemes, delivery of functional and digital skills in the workplace and a range of bespoke training packages. These courses are all delivered in the workplace by industry-trained assessors.
Dougie Fairbairn, Community’s National Executive Council member who signed the agreement on behalf of the union, said:
Giving our members opportunities to learn and develop at work is an important part of what we do as a union. By signing this agreement with Axia we will be able to do more in partnership with employers and can look forward to enabling more members to access training opportunities at work, ultimately providing a better learning experience.”
Paula Rowland, Managing Director of Axia Solutions, said:
The training is employer-led and members will benefit from training that can be a great motivator and help them achieve their potential and open up opportunities. We want to help make learners the most employable and to thrive in their chosen career.”
Community has previously worked with Axia Solutions to provide English Functional Skills courses for its East European members at XPO Logistics in Bedford. The training resulted in a number of the participants achieving promotions or taking on new responsibilities at work or within the union.
Axia Solutions is an Ofsted Grade 1 apprenticeships provider, which received an outstanding rating from Ofsted inspectors. It started over 20 years ago, initially providing qualifications in the ceramics industry. Over the years it has broadened its offer across manufacturing, logistics and office-based sectors.
