This year Bristol Learning City will host its first Learning Festival, and Unite South West are getting involved by holding sessions in its city centre Learning Centre.
Bristol Learning Festival 2020, which will take place between 30th March and 5th April, will help raise the profile of some of Bristol’s learning providers and shine a light on some of the city’s inspirational learners.
The Festival aims to bring people from different backgrounds, ages, faiths and races together to share in the joy of learning – it may also encourage others to learn something new.
A range of free events, activities, skills sessions and workshops will be available across the city and over 60 organisations have pledged to deliver over 240 activities during the week.
The regional Learn with Unite team are planning a busy week – kicking off with a stall at the launch event on Monday March 30th at Underfall Yard where they will be promoting the Learn with Unite project and their activities for the learning festival.
Tazim Ladhu is the Learn with Unite Regional Learning Organiser, said:
It was important to be involved as Bristol is a “Learning City” and our learning project has a lot to offer. It is a fantastic opportunity to let the general public become aware of the full benefits of unions in the workplace and community.”
The sessions that Unite are running are all being held in Tony Benn House, Victoria Street, Bristol. BS1 6AY and include Digital Photography on Monday 30th March, Public Speaking and Interview skills sessions during the day on the 31st March.
