Warbutons Wednesbury Learning Centre re-launches

The Warbutons Wednesbury re-launched their LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone) Learning Centre recently. Amongst attendees were Haroon Rashid FTO, Karen Plasom on behalf of the BFAWU Learning Services, Barry Marks who is ULF Project Worker for URTU and an URTU ULR. 

As well as supporting and promoting learning, contacts were made with Age Concern West Midlands, A2 who run Employability workshops, and trainer Roy Chapman, who teaches the C I Fundamentals for Warburtons.

David Todd, General Manager, opened the centre stressing the commitment of Warburtons to its personal advancement of its employees. Company employee Ndala took the opportunity to sign up to the Business and Administration course through Leicester College and a couple of drivers showed an interest in offered training opportunities.

The day was combined with raising awareness and money for Cancer Research, cakes were made and judged with a frog cake being raffled off. People were also encouraged to buy a bauble and decorate it with a loved one’s name that had lost their lives to cancer. 

Shiblee Hussain, Learning and Development Officer received a large bouquet of flowers from the company for her hard work in supporting colleagues with training and development.

Shiblee said:

It was a great day and we had great support from Karen and Barry who promoted online courses on the day."

Karen Plasom, BFAWU Learning Services added:

I thought supporting Cancer Research by decorating the tree was a really good idea and I’d never seen it done before in the learning centre."
