Lifelong Learning Week starts Monday

Union learning reps have another busy week in store supporting learners as they take part in the Festival of Learnings annual Lifelong Learning Week.  

Lifelong Learning Week is an annual celebration of the benefits of adult education for individuals, communities and employers.

Lifelong Learning Week 2020 will take place from Monday 2 November – Friday 6 November and aims to raise the profile of adult education, and celebrate the power of lifelong learning to transform lives.

It is a collaborative week seeking to engage a range of stakeholders, drive a shared focus among policymakers and champion adult learners and learning providers.

There is a busy week of activities planned that seek to highlight the importance of lifelong learning and celebrating the achievements of adult learners.

* Monday 2 November Launch of latest results of adult participation in learning survey

* Tuesday 3 November Festival of Learning 2020 awards ceremony

* Wednesday 4 November English Maths and ESOL Conference

* Thursday 5 November The ages of lifelong learning: creating a culture from school to retirement

* Friday 6 November Launch of Festival of Learning 2021 nominations

The unionlearn Annual Conference also takes part during the week on 3 November, and unionlearn are also launching the new Create Your Own Future tool on the Friday with a webinar.

Unionlearn Projects Communications Officer Keith Hatch said:

During the week there will be plenty of inspiring events from Festival of Learning and people are all invited to the unionlearn Annual Conference is the perfect opportunity to hear speakers, take part in workshops and find out the latest news on workplace learning “

Unionlearn also has a wide range of resources to support Lifelong Learning, including the new Create Your Own Future tool, Value My Skills and free bite sized eLearning courses.”
