Make UK diversity, equality & inclusion and apprenticeship survey

The body representing manufacturing employers - Make UK - has developed a survey seeking employers’ views on diversity and inclusion to help build an industry-wide perspective on this subject.

This survey also includes questions on apprenticeships. With the number of apprenticeship starts falling, Make UK is wanting to understand what will encourage manufacturers to recruit more apprentices.

Make UK have highlighted that research shows that diverse businesses outperform others. For example, companies in the top-quartile for ethnic/cultural diversity on executive teams are 33% more likely to have industry-leading profitability. And by 2025, 75% of the global workforce will be made up of millennials who want their workplace to be inclusive.

The TUC is recommending that trade unions and other stakeholders encourage manufacturing employers to respond to the survey to help Make UK get as wide a perspective as possible on both of these important issues.

The survey can be accessed at: D&IplusLevy (snapsurveys.com).  All responses are completely anonymous.
