National Numeracy Day is on 13 May, and the team at the National Numeracy Challenge are organising a day of online events to help with numeracy while the nation is at home.
The National Numeracy Day virtual festival is an all-day event packed full of guest speakers and ideas to help people get to grips with maths and throughout the day unionlearn will be sharing stories of inspiring union reps and learners and how the improved their maths skills.
The day is split into sections “Helping Children”, “Confidence and Skills” and “Getting to grips with Finances”, and there is a day full of online sessions. These include Apprenticeships and Skills Minister Gillian Keegan MP discussing her journey from apprentice to MP, Martin Lewis talking about maths and money and teaching champion Susan Okereke, sharing a teachers thoughts on maths.
There will also be stories from Numeracy Day Heroes – including UNISON National Learning and Development Officer Oreleo Du Cran.
