Unionlearn are adding two new ICT themes to its popular initial assessment tool, SkillCheck. “ICT – Getting Started” goes live today, followed later this week by “ICT – Step Up”
The new units have been added to allow even more learners to explore their skills and look at strengths and weaknesses in computer skills.
SkillCheck is a flexible learning tool that is ideal for distance learning, workplace learning centres and group learning sessions organised by ULRs. It is also accessible to individuals who might want to check what level they are currently at before approaching their rep and explore future learning options, and ideal for people currently at home.
This tool contains lots of learning themes such as English, maths and apprenticeships, with more in the pipeline. They are designed to help engage with learners, providing both an initial assessment and a way to encourage further learning.
Unionlearn Service Team Manager Ian Borkett said:
SkillCheck has been incredibly popular since its launch, and the unionlearn team are always exploring ways to develop exciting new themes to support learners.”
The initial ICT theme was well received and very useful, but we thought it would be helpful to split this theme into two units to help beginners and those with more experience. This also encourages progression, allowing learners to build their computer confidence.”
