Series of interactive workshops to support learners announced
Unionlearn are launching a short series of interactive workshops as part of this autumns Festival of Learning that will cover maths, digital and personal skills.
The four workshops will kick off with a session in October as part of Get Online Week which looks at online learning offers and explores the different platforms. In November there are practical workshops on assertiveness, personal finance and resilience.
Wednesday 21st October, 11am - Improving your skills: Getting started with online learning
This session looks at the huge amount of free learning opportunities available online. After discussing why online learning is on the rise, various platforms are discussed.
Monday 9th November, 2pm - Improving your assertiveness
A session on the reasons for a lack of assertiveness and what techniques can be employed to counter this and will cover issues and strategies.
Monday 16th November, 2pm - Personal budgeting and budget planner
Do you know your APR from your AER? Find out how to use budget planners and other techniques to help you manage your personal finances. In this session we will give you basic budgeting tips and also see how easy it is to use free online budget planners.
Monday 23rd November, 2pm - Staying strong in tough times
A look at resilience and transcendability – the ability to work through our issues and come through the other side stronger, more empowered and with an awareness of our purpose in life.
