As part of the TUC’s annual Young Workers Month unionlearn will be running a ‘Supporting Younger Workers’ week from 18th – 22nd November.
Supporting Younger Workers week will see unionlearn promoting resources, case studies and stories that aim to highlight and support the work that unions are doing to help young people in work develop skills and opportunities.
The week will also highlight the fantastic new resources recently launched by unionlearn that will help unions and others help young workers just starting out on their careers.
The Apprenticeships Essentials App and Career Kickstart materials are perfect for union learning reps, who are ideally placed to support younger workers by signposting to appropriate training and negotiating to ensure apprenticeship schemes are of high quality and offer real progression.
Unionlearn Projects Officer Louisa Smith said:
Union’s have always been there to support younger workers and the new materials from unionlearn will be an added level of support.”
Young workers are most likely to work at the sharp end of the economy and they stand to benefit most from membership. Unions are supporting younger workers across the country gain the skills they need to develop themselves and their career – and we’d love to hear your stories as either a young worker or a rep who has been supporting them.”
If you have a story you would like to share please drop Louisa a line at: [email protected]
