This October sees three more regional Supporting Learners events taking place. The events, which have this year gone online, cover the London, Eastern and South-East, Northern and South West regions.
The online union learning networking events for union learning reps and unions aim to engage, promote and inspire learning – and reps will be able to log in from work or home to network with colleagues.
Earlier events in September have proved very popular with reps and officers alike, and the three regions in October will each have their own two-hour session offering a chance which to hear about activities and news near to you.
Unite ULR Julie Butterfield said:
I thought all sessions benefited me and I liked the small group chat and discussions. It helped my mental health to realise we are all in the same boat and learning and engaging students is a struggle and we all experience problems around digital learning."
Usdaw Project Worker Neil Chapman added:
The breakout rooms were really useful and there was some really good info around apprenticeships and the unionlearn apprentice's app whilst the webinars are really useful and informative."
The events offer an opportunity for ULRs, reps and unions to:
- Get an update on workplace learning and TUC work in your region
- Hear about new resources, tools, workshops and events for reps from unionlearn
- Find out about careers tools and support to help you make decisions on learning, training and work
- Share your experience and ideas with others.
This online event is free to attend for all ULRs, other union representatives and union officers.
