November is the annual TUC Young Workers Month packed full of events that can help young workers and union reps supporting them at work – and once again unionlearn will be joining in.

TUC Young Workers Month provides an opportunity to amplify the work that trade unions are undertaking in these areas and to showcase key campaign priorities.

Each year the TUC Young Workers Conference identifies two areas for priority campaigns. This year the priority campaigns are organising young workers and young workers and mental health. 

In addition, the month is an opportunity to further highlight work the TUC and affiliate trade unions are doing. So we will have some other activity (blogs and hopefully some media) on the quality of work, the labour market for young workers, the impact of Covid-19, key workers and economic support measures including furlough and 'Kickstart'.

Unionlearn is getting involved and running a themed week around Supporting Younger Workers from 16 – 20 November sharing stories and resources.

Also on the 12 November you can join unionlearn's Mark Rowe, Dr Gail Hebson from Manchester University and Unite Senior Shop Steward Damian Holohan explore apprenticeships and the mentoring power of trade unions in a unionlearn webinar.

The TUC has a busy month of online meetings and events taking place on mental health, organising and reaching out to young workers. You can find all of these on the TUC Young Workers Month website along with a series of research reports and resources.
