Unions and union learning reps across the country are planning another busy Learning at Work Week as the annual celebration of workplace learning continues online.

Learning at Work Week 2020 has moved from its traditional week in May to October, but that hasn’t stopped unions getting involved and many have packed lots of activities into the week.

Learning at Work Week 2020 takes place from 5th - 11th October 2020 on the theme "Learning Journeys" and is an ideal opportunity for unions to promote learning in the workplace, to raise the profile of union supported learning and to engage with employers and colleagues to discuss training needs.

This year Learning at Work Week takes place during the unionlearn Autumn Festival of Learning and unionlearn will be sharing stories and resources throughout the week.

Unionlearn is also holding an “Empowering Dyslexic Learners” webinar on Thursday, which is World Dyslexia Day.

Unionlearn Projects Communications Officer Keith Hatch said:

Learning at Work Week is the perfect chance for Union Learning Reps to engage with colleagues and employers, normally this would involve running activities in their workplace – but in the current climate many unions are taking their events online.”

Unions and branches are running sessions ranging from arts and crafts to languages and maths. Unionlearn also has a wide range of resources to try out during the week, and beyond. These include SkillCheck and free bite sized eLearning courses.”

Following Learning at Work Week unionlearn plans to produce stories that highlight the activities and events that unions have done to promote workplace learning online.
